I'm trying to set up a shot where it will look like someone has been dipped in chrome, well,
half of there body anyway.
Any ideas how this can be done?

With some really nifty retouching work.You may want to look at some artwork by the likes of Soroyama (sp?) and other airbrush artists to see how they accomplished this kind of effect.
The other solution may be to model the person in a 3D software and render it with a Chrome texture. That's probably just about as much work, but at least you'll be able to change poses once the model is done
