Brand new Sony Vaio 720G came with XP Service Pack 2 already
installed. I recorded a video with Giga Pocket and went into Click to
DVD to write a DVD (DVD-R). It runs for a while, converting data,
etc... till the progress bar reaches 30-33%, and then the window just
closes. Once I caught sight of an error message flashing up before
the application shut down. Might have been an error ID:1 which is of
no use.
I was able write a 30 second video to the DVD, but attempts with
longer video (15 minutes) failed. The system recovery program was
able to write the system recovery disks (one CD-R and one DVD-R disk),
so its a problem with Click to DVD, not with the physical drive
itself.
Found one article on Sony's support site about disabling DEP - did
that and it had no affect. So far, Sony support has been useless.
I've also tried disabling all other software (anti-virus, firewall,
etc). Reinstalled Click To DVD, rebooted, etc... I also monitored
memory usage, and that wasn't a problem - plenty of memory available
when the application aborted.
Any other ideas out there?
