Code 10

Posted: 10-13-2006, 08:36 PM
Hi,

When I am trying to install a Belkin USB NIC on my computer with Vista it
wont install even when i use the compatability wizard. I get an error message
saying that it has found the driver but cant use it then it says "this device
cannot start. (Code 10).

Any ideas?

You need Vista specific drivers from Belkin.

My Audio driver for XP worked until the RC2 now it gives me an error 10
also. It is just another driver issue that I hope is worked out soon. By MS
or the device manufacturer.

I know you might also get a code 10 if you are trying to use the incorrect
driver. Make sure you have the correct driver for that device. I went
through yesterday with a Linksys NIC. It seems not many network device
drivers are included with Vista (unless it is Intel). The driver I got from
the Linksys site, written for XP, worked fine.

I have a HP Pavillion a767c with a DVD+R/RW ddrive & DVD-ROM drive.

I loaded Apple iTunes and both DVD drives something uninstalled both DVD
drives. When I reboot, the drives are discovered and the drivers try to
load. The load fails with an error message of CODE 10.

i am running Vista Home Premium.

Anyone with any ideas?

Check the apple.com site. Look for the Support tab and then near the bottom
you should the Discussions links. There are forums there for apple software
for Windows. There has been a lot of discussion around the web about issues
with iTunes since the latest release.
