CODE 39 - Microsoft System Mgmt. BIOS Driver

Posted: 09-25-2004, 11:55 PM
I noticed in my Device Manager there is a yellow
exclamation point next to Microsoft System Management BIOS
Driver. When I opened it is says the driver can't be
loaded as it's either corrupted or missing with a code
39. What do these drivers control and how do I get them
loaded so they are not corrupted/missing? Thanks for any
help you can give. Service Pack 2 really messed up my
computer! Couldn't even open my computer once it was
downloaded and had to use my XP disk to get it to open.
Took SP2 off and now my computer does all kinds of things
it never did before, namely, it takes forever on Startup
to get past "Windows Staring Up" screen!!! Grrrrrr!
Anyone else have this problem??

How to do a repair install
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

How to install SP2 update

Download SP2 to a folder or use SP2 CD, If downloading from Update site do
this before install.

1) Run CW Shredder

2) Run Ad-Aware SE

3) Run Spybot S&D

4) Run 2 different free virus scanners

5) Do it all 1 more time. (Maybe a little overkill, better safe then sorry)

6) Turn Off System Restore to delete any trash trapped in them files.
(Reboot)
