Codec conundrum

Posted: 04-09-2006, 01:48 AM
Hi

I'm having a really hard time trying to get WMM to be able to read mpgs I
took from my Sony DVD cam.

I finally got windows media to be able to play back the files by downloading
the CyberLink Video/SP Decoder from cole2k.

Now all my videos play fine in WM v10, but I still get the error:

The file C:\Documents and Settings\Paul\My Documents\My Videos\Cap0001.mpg
cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not
installed on your computer

I've rebooted a couple of times, but to no avail.

Please help!

the file from the DVD needs conversion to AVI before importing.... see the
Import Movie Source Files > Video > Discs page of my website.
