Communications Port (Com 1) Device

Posted: 09-01-2003, 12:15 AM
I am receiving this message:
"The device driver for the 'communications port (COM 1)'
device is preventing the machine from entering standby.
Please close all applications & try again. If the
problem persists you may need to update this driver."

I closed my machine down a couple of times & I still
received this message. I checked for an updated device
driver & could not find any. The only thing I have done
shortly before this started was to upgrade my Quicken
2003 to Quicken 2004. I don't know if this could have
any bearing on the situation but it is the only different
thing I have done.

If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.

Hi,

I loaded Qqicken 2004 on my new WinXP machine and now I
have the same problem. Did you find a fix?
