compatibility of XD100 printer driver with Windows XP

Posted: 09-26-2003, 06:18 PM
Hi,

I've successfully used a Xerox WorkCentre XD100 printer
for years with my Windows 95 PC. I just purchased a new
PC with Windows XP and connected XD100 printer to PC in
parallel. I downloaded the driver for XD100 but have
installed no new software or hardware since driver was
downloaded. Although Xerox driver hasn't received Windows
Logo approval, Xerox claims driver is compatible with
Windows XP. Here are results: (1)I can print from both
online sites and Word documents; (2) but can't print
anything from text only CDs. Being able to print from
text only CDs is very important to my research. As an
alternative to purchasing a new printer, can anyone help
with following QUESTIONS: (1)what, if anything, can I do
to make XD100 driver compatible with Windows XP when
printing from text only CDs? (2) If not, how can I copy
from text only CDs directly onto my hard-drive? I'd be
grateful for any help. Thanks.
