Computer freezes when you play a sound after resuming from hibernation

Hello,

anyone got any ideas? I've tried uninstalling the device which is 'Intel(r)
82801DB/DBM AC '97 Audio Controller' (using windows driver version
6.0.6000.16386) and reinstalling which didn't work.

I can play all the sounds prior to hibernating so I know it's not a corrupt
sound file.
It used to work fine but my system froze and since then I have this problem.
I've tried system restore - tried disabling the device before hibernating
but as soon as you enable it again afterwards then play a sound system
freezes.

Thanks in advance for any help.
