Configuring Toshiba to access internet via cell phone

Looking for help

With Toshiba 1800 , running WINXP pro I can't configure standard modem to go
to proper COM ( 9 pin serial) as winxp does not give me option to pick any
COM ports. Standard modem automaticly configures it to COM1 if I like it or
not.

Any help would be greatly appriciated

Run the Add Hardware Wizard once you have the modem connected to the
computer. It should find the modem on the proper COM port.
