Connected with limited access

Posted: 12-21-2007, 03:21 PM
In the 'Connect to Network' Box my network is shown as 'Connected with
Limited Access'. I am getting a very erratic service. Sometimes I can
connect the the Net other times I can't. It is also the same with email. I
can receive email OK, but I just can't send. I recently changed my ISP
(unfortunately) to SKY and their tech phone support is hopeless. They don't
understand what I am talking about, and there's no email address or forum to
contact them. The service has been OK up to now.

Does any Network expert tell me what is going on?

I would check if there is a new firmware for the router and a new driver for
NIC. Or this search result may help.

Vista Connection IssuesApparently there is an issue with WEP128 and Vista

i have a netgear wireless router, one desktop pc connected to it with a
Ethernet cable (still working fine) and a hp laptop running vista connected
thought wireless everything was working fine until one day the wireless on
the laptop just stopped working and gave the message connected with limited
access i have disconnected from the network and tried to reconnect however
all i get is connection unsuccessful then i go to diagnose the problem and
have been given some suggestions by windows help i have checked my driver
and they are all up to date i have also checked that both ipv4 and ipv6
protocols are ticked in the config for wireless networking, my adapter says
working fine and i have checked that my WEP keys are still the same. can
anybody suggest anything?

i have read many discussion's on the internet just like my own and all i
have seen have failed i thought i would give this a try before ringing
Microsoft and Intel (as my wireless card is a Intel pro wireless 3945ABG if
that helps)

if Microsoft does read this please make some suggestions yourself.

thanks everyone
