Connecting an internal Ultra ATA drive to a VISTA laptop

Due to a power supply problem, I can no longer boot my old desktop. I want to
restore my data from the internal hard drive, an Ultra ATA/100, 200GB Seagate
Barracuda - it's an NTFS drive.

Do you know of / recommend any solutions that will let me connect the drive
to a new HP laptop I have which runs Vista? Preferably, adapters that let me
connect the drive to the laptop's USB?

Any other solutions you can recommend are mostly welcomed.

Buy an external drive enclosure that supports IDE. They are the cheapest
kind. They connect via usb.

A common solution for this is to acquire a USB enclosure that will accept
your Drive type. It is plugged into your new computer's USB port. Most of
the time it comes up with a Drive letter assigned automatically. And some
other times it may be more stubborn and require a letter to be assigned by
Disk manager which is part of Vista. You will then have access to all of
the files. The enclosure can be bought at your favorite computers store for
$10 to $30. The sales people will know what you need.
