Connecting to a specific computer via Remote Desktop

Posted: 02-15-2005, 03:39 PM
Hopefully someone can help me out with this. I have multiple computers
hooked up to my Linksys WRT54G router, wired and wireless. Each PC is
assigned a static router IP address 192.168.1.101, 192.168.1.102,
192.168.1.103, etc. My question is: if I am away from my office and I wish
to access computer 192.168.1.102 what do I enter in Remoter Desktop
Connection? I believe I enter my IP address first, but can’t figure out want
comes next. (I will be using XP Pro on the client and host).

Thank you,

Thanks for the quick response to my question the link you provided helped me
understand better as to what is involved. However I am not quite computer
savvy enough to modify this to my situation. Is there anyplace that I can
find similar instructions that are Linksys WRT54G router and XP Pro SP2
Specific?

Thanks again,

Bob

Your secretary or personal assistant should be able to cope with the complex
content.

You can look at this page for router help...

http://www.portforward.com/linksys/wrt54g.htm

As far as XP SP2 is concerned the only difference is the new Windows Firewall versus the old
ICF...The differences are basically transparent however...General RDP help...
