Connecting to shared SBS2000 fax from XP client

Posted: 01-15-2004, 09:54 PM
Hi,
I installed the Windows XP fax service on all workstations in my
customers network. After that I tried to connect to the SBS 2000
shared fax. I opened the server's shares via start/run...
\\servername ... ok

In this window I selected the shown fax device by pressing the right
mouse button and selected Connect. I received a popup, that there is a
problem, installing the fax-service and to contact my administrator
(thanks for this great info ;-) )

in the eventlog I can see the following entries every time I try to
connect (translated from german):

event-id: 32026
error during initialisation of the faxdevices (virtual or TAPI) by the
fax-service. It is not possible to send faxes till a fax device is
installed.

Has anyone some ideas how to get rid of this problem?

Thanks a lot,
Alex
