connecting two computers

Trying to access files & settings from old computer
Mellium Edition 2000 to transfer to a new HP Pavilion XP.
Tried Wizard Transfer - no luck - have installed routers
linksys on both computers - can someone please help - we
would like to get started!!! LOOKING FOR A QUICK, EASY
WAY. Copied Wizard Transfer onto floppy. Where do we go
from here? Please help asp! Thanks

Exactly what problems are you having?

If you're still trying to do the transfer via a network, you can connect
your machines to each other directly with a crossover cable:
