Consistent half crashes and no access to minidump file

I used to run XP on my machine stable as rock. No problems at all. Then I got
this VISTA Beta, 64b, and start to have those "half crashes": the video
sudenly goes black, nothing to do but press the reset or the big power
button. After reboot no clue on events logs or dumps. Vista problem?.

Yesterday I open the box for a memory upgrade. and find the chipset fan very
laisy, almost stopped. Video card heat-sink with lots of dust. After a
cleanup, my machine was rocking stable again. And running VISTA!, that puts a
lot more heat inside the box.

BTW: MB ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe, one year old, one chipset fan replaced.
