to contact a vista laptop to xp laptop using a crossover cable

Hi, im a bit new to networking computers together and im finding this
information on the boards all a bit confusing.

I got a vista laptop which i wish to link to a xp laptop brought a crossover
cable but now im a bit lost in trying to link the top laptops together could
some explain please label out the steps i need to do.

You may need to setup TCP/IP manually. To do that, go to the properties of
LAN on both computers.

Hi Brian,

Ad-hoc networking using a cross-over cable is virtually the same for Windows
Vista as for Windows XP. Read carefully, and ask questions.
