Default RE: Copy 8mm film to DVD

Thats fairly simple, purchase a tv video card that will run the video either
from the camera or from the tv or vcr box, usually rca jacks.Once you can
run the video from a source to the pc,download or install drivers only for
the
video card.Once set up,download & install WM encoder 9 series + its
utilities,
WMCAP lets you view video as does the encoder as you recieve it.Once the
encoder has it in a folder, rerun it thru encoder (convert).Once thru burn
to dvd.
ATI makes a descent video capture card, but all depends on what equitment
youre running 8mm from & its jacks....

Andrew:
Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, I do not have a camera for 8mm
film.
I am looking for a reliable vendor to copy the film to DVD. THe film was
made in 1965.
Thanks

Mack Camera, which is located in Springfield, NJ does this. Your 8mm needs
to be copied onto a VHS tape and from that they can put it onto a DVD. If
you have the capability, you can burn DVD from a VHS tape on your own. I
have used Mack Camera. It is local to me as I live in NJ. They are
reliable. The guy to talk to there is Eric. He does the work. They do have
a website mackcam.com

I wouldn't have it done there if they have to take it to vhs first. You want
it to go direct to the pc and then onto dvd. Adding the vhs step will just
add degradation to the final product, which is not good when you are dealing
with old film.
