Copy LP's to my computer

I want to copy LP to my computer and I noticed that I have only one line in
on my sound card. Does this mean I can not copy in stero? Can I connect a
turn table direct or do I need to go thru an amp.? What soft ware should I
use?

No, unless you have a bizarre mono jack, they are stereo inputs. You
should be able to get an RCA to mini plug easily from an electronics or
hifi store.

Turntables (unlike other components) usually don't have enough gain for
this sort fo activity and you should go through an amp.
