Default Correct drivers still don't drive

My mouse and keyboard are not working.

The mouse is frozen, and the keyboard tabs only work to one level i.e get to
Control Panel | System, but will only go left/right and not up/down, so I
cannot access device manager.

What can I do?

Are the drivers XP compatible, is the manufacturer supporting the device in
XP? If yes, what you need to do is contact the manufacturer for assistance
as this is their issue.

I've done that. Apart from suggesting I update the driver, there are the
instructions which I can't follow because these need the arrows on the
keyboard to go crosswise, while mine can only go up or down.

It's not an XP issue, the issue is with the hardware or the drivers or the
update routine, only the manufacturer can help you with this.
