CPU usage

im running a AMD athalon 2100 with windows EX and lately,
its been using 100% of the CPU for any sort of games,
even a sega genesis emulator, which causes my CPU to
overheat. I wanted to know how i can set it back to not
using the full 100% of the CPU.

>Start the process, the use your taskmaneger to find the

processes.
Right click on it and set "priorty low".
If it is not working, the program, or game is desinged
that way.

cpu usage

When I installed windows XP on a computer with a one gig
processor and used the windows manager to see the cpu
usage, it was at 100% constantly with no programs running.
When I tried to run a program it would take forever or
never load. I reformatted the drive and installed win 2k
and everything runs fine. Why?

Clean install? Bet you did an upgrade when you put Windows XP on the
computer.

Now that you've wiped the drive, it's kind of hard to troubleshoot what used
to be there. It could have been a virus, spyware, malignant software, flakey
drivers....

CPU usage

this is a half software, half hardware problem, but take a
minute to help.
Every time i close Windows Media Player, my CPU usage
jumps to 100% and doesnt idle. I have a Pentium III 800
and i'm running WinXP
