cpu useage at 100 percent at boot up

This is a brand new dell dimrnsion 8200 \XP home I have
nothing in the start up. why would it be this high? Is
this a hardware issue??

Booting uses a great deal of CPU activity. You would expect your CPU usage
to be at 100% during bootup.

This 100 % percent is all the time.... so would it be bad
ramm? sdram? or?

How long does it remain at 100% after boot is complete and you are able to
run applications.

It stays at 100 % all the time and programs run Slow....

Have a look at Task Manager and post back with which processes are taking up
the majority of your CPU time. (If System Idle Process is in the 90%+
range - that's completely normal.)

system idle process is--- 00
SVhost is 17,333
explorer is 12,232

Rest of them are real low

Any Ideas?

You probably mean svchost.exe and explorer.exe. What you are seeing is
normal.
