in Windows XP "Open With..." should already be there.
If it's not try holding down shift and then do the right click.

Not in a zip file.

No, the context menu shows only the entries Open, Copy, Delete, Cut
and Properties even if I hold the shift key down when I perform the
right click.

I use the german version of Windows XP Professional with SP 1 and the
build in Zip program of the OS.

Is there another way to customize the menu?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

In case you are not aware of this: Customizing Context Menu

http://www.jfitz.com/tips/rclick_custom.html

You can extract the zipped files in your first tier customized ( [Unzip])
context menu. Then, you create a second tier ([Open with...] and others)
context menu for your now unzipped files. If you are expecting only a
single file in the folder most of the time, you may perhaps link the two and
present as one extra option item in a single, one tier customized context
menu, invoked by Rt. clicking the zipped folder itself.

This should be read as a direction pointer, for I have not done this myself.

Sorry, not 'unzipped' files; should be 'extracted' files.
