data error message - cd-r

I am scanning my 35mm slides, saving them on a cd-rw for future use to
import in a video. When I play the cd-rw on my television to evaluate the
photos, I receive frequent "data error" messages. Is there a problem with
the way I am saving my files to the cd-r that is causing this message? Is
there a way to fix the problem without rescanning the photos? I would like
to keep a photo cd to play on my TV but the error messages are annoying.
