Default Administrator Password needed - Win XP Pro

Posted: 07-23-2003, 11:38 AM
Hi,
I'm trying to install Win XP Pro on a stand alone PC. In
the setup process I skipped the part of definning Users.
Now it asks for an Administrator password to finish the
installation (and I don't remember that I defined it).
1. Does anybody know it ?
2. Should I reinstall from the beginning (I hope not)?
Help ....
Thanks in Advance,
Gal.

If the Administrator password is not specified during installation, the
default password is blank. Just hit Enter to get past it.

Hi

With an install of XP Pro you would have been required to set a password for the Administrator account. The install wouldn't go any further if you didn't set that password. So, at some time you must have supplied XP with a password for the Administrators account. The scenario is different in XP HE - the password for the Administrator account is intentionally left blank.

If you can't remember the password for the Administrators account, you may very well have to reinstall.
