Degraded mirror raid (RAID 1) array

Posted: 11-01-2003, 10:57 PM
I just started using a SATA RAID array with a pair of
Maxtor hard drives on an intel RAID controller. I am
using the mirror raid because I want the extra stability
of the hard drives.

It's paid off, because one of the drives has an error, but
now I can't figure out how to repair the drive with the
error. Windows says that the drive is fine and the BIOS
RAID program is useless (only option is to remove RAID
array - and lose all data, which defeats the purpose)

Is there a utility that can work on the single RAID drive
to get it back up to speed?

I thought those were fault tollerant.
Why not open cmd prompt,type:CHKDSK E: /R
E: being the hd
Or R.click the drive in my computer, properties, tools, chk
the box,fix file errors.

You need to break the Mirror (by removing it) via disk Management,
repair the error, and re-create the mirror again.
