Dell Precision 380

Posted: 06-11-2006, 12:44 PM
Hi,

Has anyone successfully managed to get the x64 beta 2 to install on a Dell
Precision 380. All I get when I boot from the DVD is "Windows Boot Manager
Did Not Start Correctly" and the 0xc00000e9 error that a number of other
people have reported. This message appears as soon as the PC boots.

I'm guessing from reading previous posts that it's to do with the SATA's.
Is there any way around this? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

Try the XP64 drivers from Dell. I have a 670 and the Dell 64bit drivers for
my internal Host Raid adapter allowed me to load Vista 64 without any
problems.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the quick response. Only problem is I don't get to the point
where Vista ask me for the drivers As soon as it tries to boot from DVD I
get the error. I'm going to try and burn another imange onto DVD just
incase it's a faulty burn.

Hi Mark,

Appears to have been a bad burn. Just wasted two days! I guess the moral
of the story is to burn at 2x if you want to be sure.

Anyway the installation has started now and as you said the normal XP dell
sata raid drivers have worked fine.

Sorry to have wasted your time.
