Right click in the background | Properties | Desktop Tab
| Customize Desktop | In the General tab you can select
wether My Docs, My Comp. I.E. , and My Net Places are
added to your desktop.

The text beneath my desktop icons has suddenly become
underlined. Anyone know how to remove the underlining?
Thanks

Hi Kenny,
In any explorer window, click on tools>folder options and on the general
tab, select the radio button "Single click to open an item..."

Hi,

Save Settings on Exit (Line 54)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

As far as I know, that is not an XP feature. Have you installed a theme
package, is there something else you might have done?

If this is a relatively recent issue, you might try using System Restore to
take you back to a time prior to when the issue began. Start\All
Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore.

If that doesn't resolve it, be sure the drivers for your graphics card are
up to date and make sure there is nothing wrong with your monitor.

Something, I forgot to mention. If your monitor has a "degaussing" feature,
use it as that might clear it up. You'll need to check the monitor's
documentation. There's usually a button you push and you might hear a loud
pop.

The default windows xp professional desktop has icons with
their description beneath. unlike the earlier versions of
windows, these descriptions (words actually!) do not come
with that ugly background. in windows xp, the words have
this great shadow effect with a transparent background.
unfortunately i changed my desktop settings the other day
and the icon descriptions now come with that ugly
background. how do i revert back to the original
transparent background for the icon description? i've
tried everything and nothing seems to work. please help,
coz i hate that rectangular blob behind all my icon
descriptions!! hope to find a solution soon. thanks mate
and keep rocking!!
