Details view without thumbnails? But still have them everywhere el

Posted: 07-05-2006, 06:23 AM
I suppose this is both a question and a suggestion.

I would like to have the regular old look of the Details view without the
thumbnails. But I would still like to have the thumbs in just about every
other place that isnt set to Details. I know about "Always show icons, never
thumbnails" in Folder Options but that seems to be an either/or setting. I
really dont see the value in 16x16 thumbs. Especially when it takes alot
longer to open a directory with alot of pictures, not to mention avi's. They
take even longer.

Is there a way around this?
Also does anyone actually find the 16x16 thumbs to be usefull? Just curious.

Microsoft will not see your suggestion here. Try the Feedback icon on your
desktop.

So why is there an option for a suggestion? Anyway, Ive lost my ffedback icon
on my desktop. I figure it was just a shortcut and tried to find it on the
system. Can anyone tell me where it is? Or maybe just post the address that
it points to?

You recreate it. Make a new icon and point it to
%SystemRoot%\system32\mshta.exe %SystemRoot%\system32\feedback.hta
You will not have the blue icon, but that doesn't matter.

Or, for just a suggestion,
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvist...s/default.mspx

If you just want the bug reporter, get it from
http://windowsbeta.microsoft.com/vis...&build=0&sku=0
