How can I stop my fax machine from automatically dialing 9 when it sends a fax?

Go to 'Control Panel|Phone and Modem Options', on the "Dialing Rules" tab,
click the "Edit" button, and remove the 9 from whichever one of the "To
Access" or "To Make" boxes in which it appears.
