Could you post your dxdiag file here?

If you click "save all information..." then attach or copy and paste the
contents here.

If the monitor is generating the "Input Not Supported" message I think
your video card might be exceding the virtual refresh rate your monitor
can handle at that resolution. Specific procedures vary, as they are
part of your video accelerator driver, but check your advanced display
properties for a tab that allows you to specify vertical refresh rates
(htz) for the various screen resolutions. Sixty htz is compatable with
just about all CRT based monitors. Most CRTs can handle the more
desireable 70 or 80 htz at 1024X768 or higher resolution.

Are you using a CRT (convex or flat SCREEN) monitor that is deep like a
standard TV receiver? The alternative is a flat PANEL, that may be
Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) or the more expensive Plasma based, that is
only a few inches deep. The flat panels are based on much different
technology and may need a particular resolution to operate properly. The
flat panels might be designed to display a message when the video card
generates an usuported resolution. Some games will permit you to change
the full screen resolution while viewing a display configuration dialog
in windowed mode.

It's common for video card manufactures to create new driver vesions
while products are still on dealer shelves with earlier drivers on the
installation CDs. Check your video card, and even your display
manufacturer's web sites for updated drivers. Read the release notes or
readme files carefully, as some recomend procedures like Windows safe
mode or removal of earlier driver versions while installing new versions.
