diskperf.sys to lower filter the storage device

Posted: 08-15-2005, 03:43 PM
As I understand the concept of filter drivers, I could either filter a class
of devices or a specific device. My question is how do I install a filter
driver (diskperf.sys) to lower filter my storage device (hard disk). By
default, the diskperf sample the comes with the DDK install as a class
filter driver. I am trying to install it just for the disk device. My goal
is to get this filter driver as close to the device as possible. I would
like to monitor IRPs just before they go the device or their function
driver.
