This isn't an XP issue, but anyway... many mother boards which support 4x
AGP may be putting out the wrong voltage to support an AGP 8x card. If this
is the case with your MB there is no way of properly installing the video
card under any operating system. You'll have to read your MB manual for
voltages supported then check your AGP card for voltages it will run at.
