Your post has created many questions due to lack of info:
1. Is this just recently or has it always been like that?
2. Are your speakers properly connected and are they shielded?
3. Have your tried different speakers, maybe a friends?
4. When playing a CD is the music also distorted or only at log on/off?
5. Have you recently upgraded or updated?

I just recently bought this computer new but just noticed this problem in the
last 2 to 3 weeks. The speakers are propertly connected. I haven't tried
any other speakers, will try that. When playing a CD the music is distorted
too. This being a new computer, no updates or upgrades.

Are you playing the music from a second Hard drive that is an IDE drive and
you rprimary is a SATA? If so, I only solved the problem by replacing with
another SATA drive and eliminating the IDE drive and convertor.

After reading your response, you could check the following. Speakers should
be checked for the possible culprit. If speakers are OK, then your soundcard
may be at fault. In that your PC is fairly new, it should still be under
warranty
that you could get it repaired or replaced at no cost to you. You could also
try a system restore back a couple of weeks. You'll lose everything you have
added since then. You can go back up to 90 days.

I musta changed a setting somewhere and can't seem to change it back
now...Every sound that comes from my pc is echoed and very hard to
understand.Iwent into my audio and changed it all back to default and still
no luck...I know its a simple click somewhere but I clicked everything in
audio and sound and no luck getting that arena echo sound to disappear even
when I go to default....Any help would be really appreciated...Thanks!

Have you tried the "Sound Effect Manager" located in your control panel?
After you click on that icon, there is a drop-down menu that offers different
sound effects. I'd guess that you have yours set to "stone room" or "hangar"
or something like that.
