To decode divx videos u need at least a pII 500Mhz and 128
of RAM. this is about the minimun that u can have. more
RAM is also always better. the only thing u can do is
upgrade your computer

Does anyone know where to get the DivX3 codec & how to
install it? I have several .avi files that are compressed
using DivX3 & Windows Media Player 9 can't decompress
them without it.

The DiVX5 codecs can playback DiVX3.11 encoded movies... as can the FFDShow
filter... However, if you want the actual DiVX3.11 codec, try looking on
www.dvdrhelp.com or www.doom9.org

You won't find 3.11alpha on there (the original release), which is the one
the OP is looking for...

I have a copy of a film, a DivX copy, i have played it
before in windows media player 9 and it worked
perfectly. However, i tried to watch it today, and the
video froze after the first few scenes, yet the sound
continued to play perfectly through out?!

Any ideas why? All input greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks, Nick
