| c:\users\myname\application data or appdata You might have to take ownership of the folder. Vista has this odd new thing it's done with permissions, even for admins. "Eileen" <Eileen@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:8D85DD48-BE90-4A34-9040-AD428A6AD148@microsoft.com... Quote:

| Right click on the folder, choose properties, choose security, choose advance, choose owner. After that, go to permission and set whatever account to have full control. I don't need the super security, so I set everyone to owner and everyone full control "Eileen" <Eileen@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:B0BE25F7-BE06-411A-A168-E6BFDF3C225A@microsoft.com... Vista is very easy and helpful as you can see Eileen. Just few clicks and you have reached the simple thing, "open file" ![]() ![]() | Guest

| The way permissions work hasn't changed in Vista. Admins still have as much power as they had in XP. What has changed is how much access PROGRAMS have to files and folders. A program that doesn't prompt you for permission cannot use your administrator power. If you are having trouble accessing a file, you probably need to run the program you are using "as administrator" by right-clicking it and clicking Run As Administrator. Changing file security settings on system files is not necessary and not recommended. -- - JB Microsoft MVP - Windows Shell/User Windows Vista Support Faq http://www.jimmah.com/vista/ | Guest

| The \AppData folder is hidden by default. to see it, open Windows Explorer, click on Organize - Folder and Search options- View check "Show hidden files and folders" Apply Ok close Windows Explorer and reopen it to see the change.
