dos program will not print in XP

I am using Bpies 5.0 dos accounting pkg
Bought new computer with Windows XP and the program will
not print even though it follows all the normal routing.
The printer works fine in a windows mode.
It appears the selection never makes it to the print
spool to print.
Printer is a HP Laserjet 2100
Any ideas?
