Default Doubled user account pictures?

Im hoping someone has heard of this before and can help me fix it. At the
login screen I have two identical picture icons per user. I tried deleting a
user profile I wasnt using and was left with just the duplicate administrator
icons. I tried adding a new extra user just to see if it would create the
double icons again for the new profile and it did. Thinking there may be a
virus or something I have already installed and ran virus, malware, and
spyware stuff and it found some tracking cookies but did nothing for the
problem of the extra icons. Why is this happening?

Thanks,

Suzie

Suzie

Many people have had this same problem. The problem has been identified as a
conflict between the OmniPass fingerprint reader software and Vista.

Here is the latest information posted by another user who fixed the problem.

I contacted OmniPass and you do not have to uninstall the OmniPass Software.
I
downloaded this file, www.softexinc.com/download/UninstMSPwdProv.exe - ran
it
re-booted and I only had the 2 ADMIN Accounts I wanted. this seems to be a
problem with OmniPass Version 5.00.18 and Vista update, It has been
addressed
and fixed in Version 5.00.75 which will fix the issue. If you don't the next
time you do a Windows Update with Vista you may get the same doubled user
accounts again.

You can download the fix from the above link and double click the downloaded
file to run the file.

You also need to contact OmniPass support or your PC maker to inquire about
getting the latest version of the OmniPass software.

I just had my Lenova computer restored to factory settings and it seems to be
working better except that after 1st Windows update, double icons for same
user account shows on desktop. I did not set up fingerprint authentication
since that previoulsy caused problems. Are the double icons the start of
problems and is there an easy way to solve double icon problem? Thank you
