Download service pack and now no sound and no media player

Posted: 08-14-2003, 01:09 PM
For the first time I downloaded updates and service pack -
had 38 to download - took hours.
Now cannot play music CD's "The path to this file is not
correct. Windows media player cannont find this file.
The server name, shared directory name, or file name may
be incorrect. Check the file name and path for any
misspellings or discrepancies. If this error message
persists contact your content provider for the correct
location of the file you want to play."
error ID =Ox80070002, Remedy ID OxOOOOOOOO.
When I put a CD in comes up as per normal but when click
play get the above message.
Also no sound on games.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
