Downloading/Streaming Media Problems

Posted: 10-10-2003, 01:36 PM
I have looked and looked and looked some more about this
issue but it doesn't seem to be a wide spread problem.

My Yahoo LaunchCast player is stopping in the middle of
songs every 10-45 secs into the song. There is no
buffering listed...it just says "Playing." I brought up
Task Manager to monitor the connection to see if there
were any spikes and there were none. It simply stops
downloading and there is no network usage.

I believe this is also related to another problem. I seem
to have some difficulty with downloading large files. The
download gets to a certain point then just "hangs." I
went and got a download manager program which helps, but I
have to keep my eye on it. It'll hang there as well, but
if I hit Pause and then Continue, it will continue the
download.

I have Windows XP Home with the latest upgrade and a
Comcast Broadband internet connection. My roomate and I
share the connection through a Lynksys wireless router
(our desktops are wired to the router). We both have
Dells with XP and he is also having trouble with
downloading.

Thanks!

>It seems to be a connection problem in that both you and
your roommate are having the same problem that would
eliminate your systems. Suggest you contact the Tech Rep
at Comcast for support/help.
