Dual Booting

I have a partition on my hard drive that is used for recovery (Hence the
label HP_RECOVERY.) and Vista is thinking that has another version of Windows
on it. Now, I'd like to keep this partition, but I want to create another
partition in the process, and the files in RECOVERY are much too big to be
moved if I have to format. Is there anyway to slice the hard drive without
killing off my existing partitions?

And if this is successful, would I be able to put the files in my
Windows.old folder into the new partition and dual-boot back into MCE?

Consider: copy recovery files to a CD (should fit) - Make CD bootable. Other
option: use Ghost or Acronis to clone the recovery partition.
Whether or not it is feasible to create another partition depends on how
much space is available - would require a non-destructive partition program
such as Partition Magic.
No - regarding the Windows.old folder. However installing Vista on another
partition or hard drive other than the one Windows MCE is on will result in
a dual boot configuration.
My suggestion - give consideration to another hard drive for Vista.
