I'm running Vista RC2 on a machine with a XFXForce 6800 GS dual DVI output
video card which has 256Mb RAM. The driver is what was installed off the RC2
DVD, reports itself on the driver tab of the adapter properties as nVidia
version 7.14.10.9677. Interestingly, if I then click on the driver details
button, the three files displayed all report a version number of
7.15.10.9677, not 7.14.10.9677.
Every time I boot the PC, only monitor 1 displays anything both before and
after login. Monitor 2 is blank. If I go into display settings, it shows me
two monitors, and that my desktop is extended onto the 2nd monitor. If I
uncheck the desktop extended box, click apply, then check the box again and
click apply, the desktop then appears extended onto monitor 2, and the
display then functions perfectly so long as the machine is running. However,
the next time I shut it down and restart it, I have the same problem and
have to go through the same sequence to get the desktop to display on
monitor 2.
