Dual monitor video screwup w/RC1

Posted: 09-24-2006, 10:07 PM
Just installed RC1 onto a 2nd drive in my workstation, which has an XFXForce
6800 XT dual DVI output monitor. Installs without any problem, but is only
using display 1. Change display properties to extend desktop onto 2nd
monitor, this works fine also. However, when I reboot, both screens are now
blank, though I find that when I move the mouse around, I can see a mouse
pointer on monitor 2 but not on monitor 1. When I type in my password and
press enter, I get logged in and can see the desktop on the 2nd monitor, but
monitor 1 is still blank, and because monitor 1 is where taskbar, start
menu, and icons are all located, I'm completely screwed.

Rebooted into Windows XP and both monitors work fine. Went through the
install process again for Vista, and had the same problem again after
extending desktop onto monitor 2 - everything is fine until a reboot, after
which monitor 1 becomes blank.
