I have the same software installed and don't have this issue.
See if any of this helps:
Restore My Network Places to the Desktop (Line 249)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
The icons listed in the Control Panel are found here in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr ent
Version\Explorer\ControlPanel\NameSpace
Network Connections:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr ent
Version\Explorer\ControlPanel\NameSpace\{7007ACC7-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270
E}
To list one for don't load: NWC.CPL or NCPA.CPL
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr ent
Version\Control Panel\don't load
