Duplicated Files

Why do I have duplicate files (ie. my pictures and joel's
pictures)and each take up a lot of space on my hard
drive? I did not knowingly create them and when I delete
one they both go away EVEN THOUGH they have different
file names.
How do I delete just ONE?

When you delete one file and the other disapear, probably the second one
is a link to the first file, In order to find and delete real duplicated files
use specialized tools, for example MMD DupFinder.
