DVD/CD-Rom not recognising disks

My DVD/CD-ROM drive has stopped recognising when a
DVD/CD/CD-ROM is loaded into the drive. I also have a CD
Writer but this seems to be working OK at the moment (
however the DVD drive was OK before). Now it will only
recognise when a copied disk is loaded into the drive
(data or music).

Does anyone have any suggestions ?
