DVD drive not accessible

I am getting the error described in Microsoft Knowledge
Base Article - 315350. "Incorrect function" error
message when you access the CD-ROM drive, the DVD-ROM
drive, or the CD-RW drive. The problem pertains to my
DVD-ROM drive. I don't have any Roxio software on my
computer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers,
nothing seems to work. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are they both showing up correctly in the BIOS?

Are you sure you have the jumpers at the rear of each drive configured
correctly (one as master and one as slave)?
