DVD not playing

Posted: 08-10-2005, 07:42 AM
I have found this site very helpful and in 24 hrs have moved further than in
24 weeks.

However having followed all insructions ie converted MM2 files to Avi then
used My DVD to create a project. Then clicked the burn button. 1 and a
quarter hours later my DVD was burned so I am sure it is not a data disk as
sometimes suggested.

It plays as a DVD on my computer but the DVD player doesn't recognise it. I
am using DVD-R. The DVD player is 30 months old and plays Mp3s, VCD's etc so
I am surprised that it would not play my DVD.

If you go to videohelp.com - on the left hand side menu there is a
section called
Lists
DVDPlayers

You can get some info about your player and if there is an issue with
DVD -R/+R it should be detailed there

I have an Apex DVD player connect to my TV, and it plays my DVDs
without a problem. My son has an Apex DVD player and it will not play
any DVDs made on my, or his, computer. There doesn't seem to be any
correction or adjustment to made that changes this.

Bring your disc to a local store that sells DVD players... they would be
happy to try it with you in a number of new ones

Thanks for those replies. The encouraging thread is that all seem to think
the DVD player is the issue, which suggests i have completed the burning
procedure correctly. I will cart the Disc around to a few places and see if
it works on alt' players.

Cheers

And that answer has my vote as well.
I have created many DVD's and for whatever reason I have one DVD player that
will not play the DVD's but all my other players work with no problem at
all.
