DVD PROBLEM

I have just downloaded and installed a Microsoft critical
update to do with NVIDIA.

However, I now cannot play DVDs on my Powerlink DVD.
Each time I insert a DVD and the media player opens up
and tries to play the DVD, I get an error meassage as
follows:

Eror Code: F4D41436

The TV Out port of your display card is not working
properly.

Extra information given: This copy protected disc can
not be played when the TV Out function is enabled.

I have been playiong my DVDs quite happily until I
downloaded this update. Can someone please help and
advise me how to disable the TV Out function? I have
looked everywhere and cannot work out how to do it.

Hi, try downloading a different program to run the DVD's.

Same problem, same message here. I may try the roll back, as
suggested by Rick. Please post back if you find a definitive answer.

Have just found a possible answer in Known Issues under
Windowsupdate. I wasn't aware that you could remove an
update (learn something new every day!).

You can go into Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs and
remove the update (if it appears).

I'll try it when I get home this evening and post my
results.

Thanks for the update.

I've fixed it but by a different means. It appears it was
a driver problem. Having downloaded the NVIDIA service
pack from MS, I needed to update the driver. I contacted
NVIDIA who recommended I download updated driver from the
following location: ftp://evga.com/4467_xp.exe. It
worked beautifully, although it took almost 2 hours to
download over a 56K.
