Posted: 08-03-2003, 05:03 PM

Thanks for any and all help that you might be able to

No it can't. You'd have found the answer yourself had you bothered to STFW.
See link three in my signature.

Probally not, but check with the maker of your DVD. DVD-
RAM has basicly now become un-supported by many
companies. DVD-RAM has the lowest compaibibly rate with
other drives.

You just won't be told, will you? What did I say about not posting unless
you're sure of your facts? Maybe you should read the third link in my
signature, you could learn something. A DVD-R/RW drive CANNOT write to
DVD+R/RW discs any more than a DVD+R/RW drive can write to DVD-R/RW discs.
Nor can they read the opposing format. As for DVD- having the "lowest
compatibility rate" this is complete bovine excrement. At the moment DVD- is
by far the most widely supported format. All computer DVD-ROM drives (IIRC)
cannot read DVD+ discs and 95% of TV DVD players can only read DVD- discs.

So, do please check your facts before posting. If you're not sure it's
better if you DON'T POST!!

Perdita X. Dream, you are in fact wrong when you post this information the
way you posted it. If you check this web site (PC World)
http://www.pcworld.com/howto/article...06,pg,2,00.asp you will find
this quote "DVD: Rewritable formats include DVD-RW, DVD+RW, and DVD-RAM.
Though the third format is the least compatible of the three (discs can be
read only in DVD-RAM drives and some DVD-ROM drives), it's good for data
backup, since it's available in both 4.7GB bare discs and high-capacity,
9.4GB cartridges (protected discs that are usable only in other DVD-RAM
drives). "

This clearly shows that Chris Lanier has the correct information on his/her
post when stated that DVD-RAM drives are " lowest compaibibly" which you
disagreed with.

So to quote you "So, do please check your facts before posting. If you're
not sure it's better if you DON'T POST!!"

You're comparing apples with bananas. He said DVD-R (which, last I looked,
stood for Digital Versatile Disc Recordable), not DVD-RAM which is a totally
different kettle of kippers altogether.

Actually, he said "Hello, simple question for someone, can DVD-RAM read
write onto DVD+RW disks." Looks like he said DVD-RAM not DVD-R. Look at
the original post.

I do not stand corrected!

Windows XP will not burn DVD's. The newest version's of Nero and Easy CD
Creator will both burn DVD's.
