DVD Region Code changed after Windows Update

drive in it. The operating system is XP Pro. I just got
it about 1-1/2 weeks ago. When I first put in a DVD it
told me I had 5 times to change the DVD region. I
selected '1' for the U.S. and played the DVD. That left
me 4 changes. Last night I was doing Windows Update
recommended updates. I was doing 7 updates. I think one
of them had to do with media. After the reboot, following
the download and installation, I looked at the DVD+RW
properties and saw the region said "not selected" and
remaining changes said "2". I'm afraid to go down to 1
change without knowing what caused this problem and why it
happened. Has anyone else seen this and know of a fix?
